A rollover crash Friday evening injured at least one person on Holland-Sylvania Road near Central Avenue in Sylvania Township, closing Holland-Sylvania to traffic, authorities said. The crash occurred about 5:04 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the 3000 block of North Holland-Sylvania, according to Township police.

Holland man sentenced to prison for fraud, money laundering

Saying the effect of Mark O. Wittenmyer's crimes was "devastating on our community," a federal judge on Friday sentenced the former Holland businessman to 78 months in prison and ordered him to pay more than $8 million in restitution to the victims of his fraud. Wittenmyer, 57, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in September, 2016, to seven counts of money laundering, and one count each of conspiracy, access device fraud, and money laundering conspiracy.

Holland man gets 10 1/2 years for robbery, fleeing police

A Holland man who robbed two businesses, fled from police, and later escaped from Lucas County Sheriff's deputies was sentenced Wednesday to more than 10 years in prison. Christian Pfaff, 26, entered Alford pleas - not admitting guilt - Oct. 18 to escape, attempted failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, and two counts of robbery.
