The Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals has upheld the 2017 conviction of a man for the theft of jewelry and other merchandise from the Meijer store in Oregon. Rico L. Mike Dandar, 1921-2018

Mike Dandar, a retired machinery operator and a community volunteer who was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, died Saturday in Lane Park of Oregon, a memory care facility. He was 96. The elder Mr. Dandar retired in 1982 from the former Plaskon Products plant on Glendale Avenue, where he was a pipe fitter and a boiler operator since the late 1940s.

A bill pending in the Ohio House of Representatives that would impose penalties on municipalities that charge higher sewer or water rates outside their corporation limits than they charge users within their boundaries has drawn the endorsement of the director of the Northwestern Water and Sewer District.
