Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz is poised to release a new regional water plan that would establish a new commission with the city's water partners, giving each community a voice in both rates and investments. Under the mayor's plan, the Toledo Regional Water Commission would be established, with an appointed representative from each community that purchases water from the city on the commission.

A South Toledo man is accused of raping and inappropriately touching a woman with a medical condition, according to an affidavit filed in Toledo Municipal Court. Tommy L. Hughart, 58, of the 500 block of Shea Street, is charged with rape, a first-degree felony, and gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony.

Toledo Lucas County Health Department officials are reminding residents that bats become active during this time of year, which means the possibility of exposure to rabies is increasing. A bat tested positive for rabies in East Toledo this week and was the first in Lucas County for 2018.

Bond set at $2M for suspects charged in November homicide

Bond was set at $2 million Tuesday for each of four South Toledo men charged in the Nov. 20 shooting death of Dakoda Rogers.
